Inspired by a friend who practices positive psychology in her consulting work, I took the survey at the Values in Action Institute’s Web site.
The instrument, which measures 24 character strengths, declared my top strengths are creativity, ingenuity, and originality. The report is pretty accurate, which really surprised me.
My friend encourages her clients to answer the following question in terms of one’s top five VIA signature strengths in order to determine if a venture will bring satisfaction: “Does this person, job, volunteer opportunity, or leisure activity allow me, or encourage me, to use these strengths?”
