My team at Tusculum had to develop and teach a short lesson to the group, then administer a test.
The purpose was to demonstrate that we understood the basics of lesson design, development, implementation, and evaluation (according to the ISD process that the Tusculum program embraces). This was another time my team worked very well together.
The subject we chose was potting a plant. Each person took charge of one component – preparing the handout, developing the lesson plan (with timings and structure), staging the materials, and creating the Powerpoint presentation that would precede the group’s (hopefully) successful practical application of their new knowledge. Each member of my team worked with 2-3 people in small groups to assist them with their potting. We split the cost of materials.
As the most experienced Powerpoint user on my team, I created the presentation, which you can view by clicking here (PDF).
